Over 200 million ounces of high-grade silver have been mined in the legendary Keno Hill silver district of Canada's Yukon Territory over the past 100 years, making it one of the largest and richest silver producing districts in the world and host to one of the highest grade silver resources of any global producing region.
Our Keno Hill silver property consists of 112.5 square kilometres of highly prospective ground in the core of this world-class silver district, with seven historic producing deposits, including some with the highest average silver grades. Until recently, this area had seen very little modern exploration. The project is readily accessible from well-developed roads and has access to the existing and established Yukon power grid which supplies Keno City and Alexco.
The property adjoins Alexco Resource Corp's operations, including the Bellekeno, Lucky Queen, Flame & Moth & Bermingham projects, which contain over 50 million ounces of high-grade silver in current resources, and have seen historic production from seven different mines that ranged from more than 10 million up to 100 million ounces.
In addition, our McKay Hill silver and gold property is an historic producer and is located northeast of Keno Hill in the newly emerging silver and gold mining district which hosts Atac Resources' Rackla project.
